New book!

This arrived today, all the way from the Netherlands. It's the last striped book I illustrated. In fact I only completed it late october, I was rather later than I should have been because I was trying to finish another assignment and then I was very busy because I moved to the United States in october as well.
Then I was late another week because I had to spend a week in the hospital. It was rather a nuisance. But despite not having eaten for days and with numerous tubes going in and coming out of me I managed to finish it.

I'll do a blog post tomorrow about the actual illustrations.

Terrible Yellow Eyes

Having stayed in the United States for rather a long while, I'm now back in the Netherlands. I had a roaringly good time, and quite a busy one too. In fact things can now be called frantic, but that's beside the point.
Mainly I wanted you all to know that you should go to Terribleyelloweyes.com, a wonderful blog devoted to Maurice Sendak's amazing book Where the Wild Things are (or Max en de Maximonsters for those who know the book by its Dutch title). The talented Cory Godbey has been putting together a collection of pieces from illustrators all inspired by the book, and he was kind enough to let me contribute. It's an amazing site, with work by some very wonderful illustrators.

Where man has Oregone before

I'm in Oregon at the moment, have been for three weeks actually, and will be for another three. Things are grand, I'm very busy with a new book for Pica (and there's no end in sight in terms of illustratin').
The weekends are free for traveling though, two weeks ago we went to the desert and saw the painted hills.
