For those who missed it

This past month I illustrated four poems for the Nrc-Handelsblad.
It was for their children's page, and a lot of fun.

Fortunately sometimes you can make something out of the things you like. Such as this.

Exclusive - only here! - only now!

Well, the now-thing may not be entirely true.

But you won't see the picture below anywhere else. I made it last week as an illustration for the children's page of the NRC-handelsblad. Only, when I was just about ready to send the whole thing to the paper I got a new idea; a better one in fact. So working furiously I drew a new picture, one I was mightily satisfied with, I might add. That's the illustration they're going to print. Fortunately I have this blog so I can show you my first attempt. In the end I don't think it's a particularly bad illustration, but it's a little too showy and fragmented.
