But it could have been close,
well according to some. This week they flipped the switch (or pressed zee button. or inserted the key, but that's neither here nor there) at the Large hadron Collider. They shot some protons through it and no black holes were formed. Phew.
Okay the chances of that happening were small, and the chance of that black hole actually being stable is about at the same level of spotting a sasquatch drinking tea in your backyard. But hey, at least now the scientists didn't make that rap for nothing.
Anyway here's a video about what would have happened if a black hole had formed.

An interlude
As part of the deformalising of this blog, this post has nothing to do with anything I've made. Instead, I'm just embedding something I like.
If you're anything like me you'll have no doubt seen the film Rushmore and loved every inch of its reels.
Something I read about but hadn't seen until recently was this little bonus from the criterion dvd, made for the Mtv movie awards in 1999. They're adaptations in vignette form of several of the films of that year.
This version of the Truman Show might actually be better than the original.

Changes
Update your linkies pets (or if that sounds to homosexual for you, update your bookmarks buckaroos!), from now on my homebase will be here www.groeneinkt.nl. A brand new site, built with these hands.
Granted, right now it still needs one more page and the buttons to return to the main menu don't work, but it's only been online for ten minutes.
Soon though, soon it'll be all ready.
And then, I shan't leave the blogosphere, but having a real site of my own, my professional face to the world, will actually make blogging more fun. So expect more doodles and loads of other stuff.
Now, go look at my site!

?!
Remember this?

Some other people did as well. Turns out I've been nominated for the Plastieken Plunk. An award for the best short story comic of 2007, as published in the Flemish magazines Plots and Pulp Deluxe.
For more information go to pulpdeluxe.be and find out how you can vote (for me, for me!)and win a prize of your own!
Actually my vote is for Randall C.'s Slaapkoppen or Brecht Evens' Pinokkio, I haven't decided yet.

Last Chance!
It's going into its final week now,
the exhibition Mooi! (which I can't help but translating as Purrrty!)
Some pictures of mine can be seen there, along with work from fellow Fiep-awardee
Pyhai and other illustrators. We were asked because we're all illustrators of children's literature (some more than others though). And apparently the exhibition has been quite succesful.
What I found most interesting though, was the way it showed off some interesting differences in age and approach. Each illustrator has a style of his own that in my opinion seemed to very much belong to a certain age.
Though I'll leave it up to you to make any judgments on that.
You can see samples of all our work: here.
And if my camera's batteries hadn't given up I'd have shot more pictures,
but here you are.
